Adding Funds
How to add funds: Cash, *Debit/credit card
*You can only use debit/credit cards issued within Korea.
*Debit/credit cards are only available for use on Line 1 (Seoul Station - Cheongnyangni Station) and Lines 2-8 in the Seoul area (Will be available at all card reload machines as of 4 AM on July 1, 2024).

※ How to Reload the Card and Reload Information
① 30-day pass
  • - Before expiration of the usage period: You cannot select the usage start date or change the type of card (Automatically extended to the expiration date + 30 days; whether the Seoul public bike [Ttareungi] is included cannot be changed)
    (Reloading the card before expiration is available from 5 days before the expiration date to the date of expiration. However, reloading before expiration is not available between 12:00 AM and 04:00 AM.)
  • - After expiration of the usage period: You can select the start date and card type at the same time as when you reload funds.
② Short-term pass
  • - Reloading the card is possible only after expiration of the usage period.

*Limited to public transportation with a basic fare of KRW 1,500 or less (Night buses are an exception for citizen convenience)
※ How to Use the Seoul Public Bike (Ttareungi)
(To use Seoul public bike (Ttareungi), you must have a Korean authentication method such as I-PIN.)
  • STEP 1 Register as a member and register the card on the "T-Money Card & Pay" website.
  • STEP 2 After downloading the "T-money GO" app and registering as a member, register the Climate Card number. *How to check the card number: 16 digits starting with 1032 on the back of the card *You can register your card in the "T-money GO" app starting one hour after adding funds to the Climate Card.
  • STEP 3 Use the two-hour Seoul public bike (Ttareungi) pass on the "T-money GO" app. Register your Climate Card via the T-money GO app and enjoy unlimited use of the Seoul public bike (Ttareungi)!

  • ※ Incheon Lines 1 and 2, Sinbundang Line, Yongin, Uijeongbu, Gyeonggang Line, and KORAIL located outside Seoul are excluded from getting on and getting off.
  • ※ If you get off at a station that is excluded from getting off/on, an additional fee will be added.
  • Ex.) If you get off at Bupyeong Market Station after getting on at Seoul Station, a fee will be collected separately by the station staff (Climate Card cannot be used there; Collection fee: usage fee from Seoul Station to Bupyeong Market Station)
  • ※ Exceptions: After getting on at a station in the Seoul area, you can get off at Line 4 (Byeolnaebyeolgaram-Jinjeop), Line 5 (Misa-Hanam Geomdansan), and Line 7 (Seoknam-Kkachiul. (However, you cannot get on at those stations.)
  • - Bus: City, village, and late-night buses registered to Seoul City (Bus route status available at Seoul Transportation Information Center)
  • ※ Cannot be used at T-money distribution affiliates (convenience stores, Lotteria, Starbucks, etc.).


Getting Off Untagged
  • - When getting off the subway/bus, you must tap the Climate Card.
  • - 30-day passes will be suspended for 24 hours from the time of the last ride (the last untapped ride when getting off) if you do not tap the card when getting off twice within the same period.
  • - Card tap history (when getting off) resets based on when you reloaded or added funds to the card. If you reload the card before the usage period expires, the number of times you did not tap then card when getting off accumulates based on the recharge date.
  • (Ex: If you reload the card on 3/27 during a usage period from 3/1 to 3/30, the number of times you did not tap the card when getting off will accumulate from 3/27 to 4/29.)
  • * If you get on at a station where you can board and then get off outside the Seoul area, it will be considered a one-time non-tag when you get off. (The Climate Card cannot be used; a fee will be collected separately by the station staff.)
  • Ex.) When getting on at Seoul Station and getting off at Bupyeong Market Station, it will only count as one non-tag and a fee will be collected separately by the station staff.
Refunds
  • - All refund steps ① to ⑤ below must be completed within the period of use to complete the refund application for the Climate Card.
  • ① Visit the unmanned card reload machines inside subway stations on Line 1 (Seoul Station - Cheongnyangni Station), Lines 2-9, Ui-Sinseol Line, or Sillim Line in Seoul.
  • ② Scan the card and press the “Refund (Stop Card Use)” button on screen of the card reload machine.
  • ③ Stop using the physical card via the card reload machines.
  • ④ Visit the T-Town Customer Center (1st floor, Seoul City Tower, 110 Huam-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul).
  • ⑤ Confirm your refund eligibility and fill out the receipt (Passport may be required).
  • ※ You must complete steps ①-③ above (including stopping of card use) and visit T-Town before the expiration date.
  • ⑥ Visit the T-Town Customer Center 3 business days after you apply to receive the refund in cash.
  • - For normal cards, the card value is not refundable. The remaining balance excluding the actual amount used for public transportation/Seoul public bike (Ttareungi) and a refund fee (KRW 500) from the reload amount will be refunded. (Seoul public bike (Ttareungi): KRW 1,000 per day/Maximum of KRW 5,000)
  • - Only the latest short-term pass that added or reloaded funds with cash can be refunded at the T-Town Customer Center.
  • - Refunds for the 30-day pass or cases where funds were added via card are possible after signing up on the T-money website. However, you must have a Korean account in your name. (For refund methods, please go to the "Climate Card Refund menu" after clicking "Customer Center" on the T-Money Card & Pay website.)
